The Edelweiss Charity Ball will be held at the Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel in Bucharest for the nine year consecutively.

Objective of the Ball:
The purpose of the previous 8 fund raising balls was to help Hospice Casa Sperantei to open a new in-patient hospice in Brasov, to support the home-care team Mobilmed in Bucharest, to open in 2004 the National Resource Centre for Hospice and Palliative Care in Bucharest and to establish the new mobile hospice team for terminally ill adults in Bucharest and the hospice school in Brasov for very sick children, to offer specialist palliative care advice within Bucharest hospitals as well as acquiring new premises in which to open an out-patient clinic for patients with cancer and motor neurone disease, to build a much needed in-patient teaching hospice for Bucharest.

This year, more than ever, the Hospice Casa Sperantei needs to raise money to continue its fate to make a real difference to the lives of patients children and adults from a terminal illness. Each year the hospice treats more than 1,000 patients in Bucharest and Brasov County and has already taught palliative care to 10,000 medical staff throughout the country.
